The Story Behind the “We Teach the Future(s)” Podcast

What does it take to turn a long-standing idea into a living, breathing project? In the case of We Teach the Future(s), our youth-led, intergenerational podcast, what started as a hopeful conversation in 2022 finally took flight in 2024. Here's the story of how it happened.

2022: The First Spark

Back in 2022, Dr. Peter Bishop, founder of Teach the Future (TTF), had a vision: a podcast that would amplify voices in futures thinking. The dream was there, and some of the groundwork was laid. The website was set up, our podcast branding graphic came to life, and we even published the podcast on Spotify. Peter recorded an inaugural episode, and Amna supported the process from behind the scenes, coordinating technical logistics and handling the setup.

But like many good ideas, the project paused before it could really begin. Life got busy, and that first episode sat on the shelf, unheard.

2024: Breathing New Life Into the Vision

Fast forward to early 2024, when we decided it was time to revisit the podcast idea and give it the energy it deserved. Through Lisa Giuliani, TTF's Director of the Young Voices Network and Internship Programming, we brought on Vedant Tiwari as a podcast intern and host. Vedant brought the perfect mix of curiosity, storytelling instinct, and determination.

As he stepped into the role of podcast host and editor, we supported him behind the scenes, managing the logistics, coordinating podcast guests, shaping the episode structure, and collaborating with Vedant on the interview questions and creative direction. It was a true team effort.

Our Soft Launch and What We’ve Built So Far

Without a major launch campaign, we began releasing episodes quietly, letting the content speak for itself. We now have four published episodes, with more in the pipeline. The response? Thoughtful engagement, encouraging feedback, and a sense that this podcast is tapping into something meaningful.

Episodes so far have featured youth innovators and surprise intergenerational guests, including a very special kickoff with Dr. Peter Bishop himself. Each conversation explores how futures thinking is shaping classrooms, communities, and change-making efforts around the world.
