NGFP-YV Awards ages 12-17 year olds Applications Opened

Colleagues,

As you know, Teach the Future is a global movement that promotes futures thinking for students and educators. Our aspiration is that every young person is prepared to navigate an uncertain world and has the agency to imagine and create their preferred future.

Our annual event, in partnership with the School for International Futures (SOIF), is Next Generation Foresight Practitioners - Young Voices (NGFP-YV) Awards.

NGFP-YV encourages young people, ages 12-17, to create and share solutions for a more sustainable future. Last year’s winners and entrants came up with a wide range of projects relating to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) with global participation and recognition.

We are asking for your help in three ways – 1) encouraging young people to apply for the awards, 2) volunteering as a judge for the awards and 3) suggesting that your organization becomes a partner in the awards.

1) Applications for young people to apply for the awards are now open and will be accepted through June 16, 2023. Previous experience suggests that young people who do apply find that they are glad to be able to articulate their vision for the future along with what they are doing to move toward that vision. Please pass this opportunity on to any young people you may know and to any educators who may want their students to participate. We have included some social media posts that you can use below.

2) Judging will take place between June 16 and mid-July, 2023. We receive over 100 applications each year so we cannot conduct this program without the generous support of our judges. "I can tell you personally that reading these young people’s essays and viewing their videos gives me hope that we have young people who are in touch with both the challenges and the opportunities they face." - Peter Bishop.

Judging requires about 6-7 hours total, and it begins soon after applications close. Become a judge by filling out this form.

3) Our partners help us in a number of ways: 1) By making a substantial effort to recruit young people and judges, 2) By promoting the program on their social media and throughout their networks, and 3) By making a financial contribution to the cash awards that some of these young people receive. We are delighted to recognize our partners with their logos on our website and our sincere thanks. Become a partner or a sponsor by filling out this form.

Please help us get the word out and consider participating in this global event supporting and encouraging youth!

Thank you for your dedication to young people and their futures. We look forward to collaborating with you.
