Mindture: Building a Community of Futurists to Transform Education in Mexico

Updated: Jul 11

From Vision to Action: A 2024 of Growth and Impact

Post written by the Mindture team (Mexico). The future of education is not a distant concept but a reality we are building today. At

Mindture, an EdTech startup that merges education, innovation, and technology, we

believe in the power of futures thinking to strengthen decision-making for new

generations.

Since our founding in 2023, we set an ambitious goal: to create educational experiences that help children and young people design their future consciously and with purpose.

One year later, our commitment has translated into concrete actions that have made an impact on dozens of children, young people, and educators.

Expanding Our Mission: More Ages, More Communities, More Impact

One of the most significant milestones this year was the expansion of our methodology to the 13 to 15 age range, responding to the growing demand and interest in our programs.

We brought our model to communities in the state of Nuevo León, Mexico, where we

conducted transformative workshops in partnership with the Pal Sur del Norte Foundation, impacting children teenagers who, for the first time, explored the importance of imagining and designing their future.

In these workshops, participants created their own "Future Tree", reflecting on their roots (values and learnings), their present (skills), and their branches (aspirations and dreams).

The results were powerful: children and young people not only showed a high level of

engagement and motivation but also reaffirmed the importance of equipping them with tools to build their own path.

But we didn’t stop there. We know that transforming education requires involving those

who guide learning: teachers.

In 2024, we implemented the "Educational Innovation for the Rural Classroom" program, aimed at updating teachers on educational technologies and the design of active learning experiences, educational innovation, and futures design. Some of the methodologies used included LEGO Serious Play, challenge- and competency-based learning, and futures design. The program engaged 30 preschool, elementary, and middle school teachers, providing them with an innovative training experience that integrated both conceptual and practical approaches.

During the teacher training program, teachers completed a self-assessment of teaching competencies, evaluating seven key areas for the education of the future, such as the incorporation of active learning, course planning and design, assessment of learning, among others. This tool was a key instrument that allowed us to analyze and identify strengths and opportunities, facilitating the customization of future training programs.

What fills us with the most pride is that today, teachers are implementing what they

learned in their classes, impacting more than 150 children and young people in basic

education.

Recognitions and International Expansion

2024 also brought us great opportunities for continued growth:

• 100% scholarship and invitation to the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, as part

of the Nuevo León Startups Delegation.

• Winners of the Monterrey Government; Productive Projects Fund, Mexico.

• Winners of the 2nd edition of the Monterrey Government Technological

Entrepreneurship Award.

Additionally, we continue to collaborate with the amazing organization Teach The Future México, which not only provided us with a platform to share our experience at high-impact forums like the World Futures Congress in 2023, but also invited us to the World Future Day in 2024. We also want to thank Rosa Alegría for recognizing us as an example in teaching future foresight to children and adolescents in LATAM at the Virtual Congress on Foresight, Education, and Complexity. Thank you for the support and endorsement of our initiative.

Looking to the Future: Building a Global Network of Futurists

Our vision is clear: to form a global community of futurists from an early age that will

transform education worldwide. To achieve this, we are committed to:

✅ Applying for three international calls for EdTech startup funding.

✅ Strengthening our digital marketing strategy to expand our impact.

✅ Expanding our network of partnerships to continue bringing futures design to more

children, teenagers, and teachers in Latin America and around the world.

This is just the beginning. At Mindture, we believe that every child and young person has the potential to design their future and change the world. We will continue working with passion to make this possible.
