HackEdu 2025: Where the Future of Education Comes to Life in Brazil

ree

From July 31 to August 3, 2025, the town of Santa Rita do Sapucaí, in Minas Gerais, Brazil, will become the epicenter of educational innovation. During HackTown — the largest festival of innovation and creativity in Latin America — Teach the Future Brazil will co-host HackEdu, a bold and transformative experience that places education at the center of the conversations that truly matter.

Why hack education?

Education as we know it was not designed for the world we live in, let alone for the world we want to build. In the face of accelerated global transformations, the school must stop being a disconnected space and become a living territory of experimentation, regeneration, and connection with real life.

That’s why Teach the Future Brazil, in partnership with HackTown, is launching HackEdu 2025: a living lab of educational futures, where educators, youth, specialists, researchers, and institutional leaders gather to imagine and activate the future of learning.

What to expect from HackEdu?

HackEdu is an invitation to cross the present with eyes set on what’s next.

In this journey, we don’t just map themes, we shape living territories where education is reimagined with courage, creativity, and collectivity.

We begin with futures-oriented education, which anticipates signals, trends, and scenarios to turn uncertainty into a tool for transformation. Because thinking about the future is also learning how to navigate the present with depth and intention.

We move through new teaching approaches, where the curriculum expands, the street becomes a classroom, and students become co-creators of knowledge. Here, rebellious and affective pedagogies come alive and learning starts to pulse again.

We engage with edtech and emerging technologies, not as ends in themselves, but as catalysts for more inclusive and reality-connected learning experiences. Innovation happens on the ground in schools, through prototypes, labs, and open experimentation.

We amplify the voices of youth as protagonists, placing adolescents and young people at the center of conversations, decisions, and creation. Because it's not just about preparing them for the future, it’s about building it with them.

We reflect on future-ready skills, connecting life projects, emerging professions, and political education. Every pedagogical choice is also a gesture toward the world we want to live in.

We cultivate regenerative education, which cares for the Earth, our bodies, and our relationships. Education also means rebuilding connections with the planet, with others, with well-being and ecological sensitivity at the core.

We recognize art as a powerful form of educational expression, bringing aesthetics, sensoriality, and affection as legitimate ways of learning and teaching. Here, beauty itself becomes a tool for transformation.

And finally, we connect all of this through a cross-sector education ecosystem, where schools, collectives, companies, and communities build bridges, not walls. Education ceases to be an isolated task and becomes a collective pact.

These tracks are open maps. You’re invited to walk through them, to propose, to transform.

A powerful and diverse curatorial team

HackEdu 2025 brings together a multidisciplinary team of curators operating at the intersections of education, innovation, futures thinking, and technology. Among them:
