Generational Chain

Rating is 0.0 out of five stars based on reviews

We often feel change most acutely when it is sudden and everything seems to change at once. What does change look like from a distance? This middle school unit teaches students to consider multiple perspectives, to understand how context changes our worldviews, and to collect and synthesize evidence for an opinion. Students will develop strong interviewing and listening skills by preparing for an interview with someone from an older generation about their views on change and the future, and they will analyze and share their findings through a class discussion. This mini unit can be extended into a full multimedia storytelling project using NPR’s StoryCorps app.
