Bloomberg CityLab has just released a new "choose-your-own-climate-policy" game. "As the newly-minted mayor of the college city Smogtown, players have to make tough choices to tackle issues like traffic congestion and inefficient buildings — while also considering how each decision affects their chance of re-election. And the most ideal policies for the environment may not be the most popular. The ultimate goal: to reach net-zero carbon emissions." https://www.bloomberg.com/features/2021-net-zero-mayor-game/ Worth checking out! Let us know of other futures-related games that you find online.

In Futures Thinking in Education
In South Africa, we teach a workshop series titled "Ethical Leaders of the Future". We believe that it is vital for our learners to understand the relationship between Ethics and Values, Leadership and Futures Thinking. We guide our participants through a range of exercises that allow them to explore their own values, establish their group's shared values (when they work in groups together), and articulate how they can express their values through behaviours. We also allow them to reflect on how their values relate to their preferred futures. Your thoughts?

We all have our favourite futures game. Mine is "The Thing from the Future" by Stuart Candy. I love how that allows for creativity and fun. It really has the ability to stretch the thinking horizon of those who engage with it beyond the usual. Excellent to play with school children and adults alike!
